I must be about the most careless and forgetful photographer out there. I have a tendency of uploading newly taken pictures on one of the hard drives and completely forgetting about them until a certain mood strikes or I randomly open some old folder. I don’t think this is due to some laziness because I do edit my pictures whenever I have free time.
The upside of this is I do get pleasantly surprised, reminded of forgotten pictures and memories. I came across this photo today shuffling through old folders and I don’t remember ever seeing it before. I had 2 shots for “panoramic” purposes, I stitched them together and quickly edited a few things and voila.
I didn’t have the 3 shots with different exposures I often take, but 1 turned out to be fine. It’s amazing how much data a single shot can carry.
This is on Margaret island (Margit-sziget) in Budapest. It’s an island park on Danube, which splits Buda and Pest. A great place to spend a sunny beautiful day. And a great place to run into all sorts of interesting people. That particular day this was one of the those people to get and fix my attention.
St. Stephen’s Basilica is one of the most recognizable buildings in Budapest after its famous striking parliament. It was also one of the first things I went to see after moving there. My introduction to the city sorta speak!
There is a nice view onto the city if you climb the stairs all the way up. But I’ll save that for another post:)
I’ll be leaving for a 2 maybe 3 week trip later this week and definitely won’t be having any access to internet. I’ll try to schedule some posts in advance so the blog will hopefully keep functioning without me.
But for now this is the view on the historic castle district from the Citadel. Definitely one of my fav spots in Europe. It’s a little hike up the hill but it’s absolutely worth it as you are rewarded with some amazing views of this beautiful city. (As always click the pic for a better view)
This is a little walk up the hill that leads to the historic castle district in Budapest. The park itself that leads to it isn’t as impressive as the district itself but on a sunny warm day like this it’s an absolute pleasure to walk through it. Wouldn’t you want to take a walk through it?
Walking around european cities I’ve come across quite a few weddings. I never think much of them and am not too interested in taking a picture. This is one of the few I did take. This particular couple was very hard to miss as they walked around with a lot of people and cameras around them. So blending in was no trouble at all:)
